Charcoal Pinstripe Wool Flannel Tailored Jacket
A single-breasted tailored jacket in charcoal pinstripe flannel, cut as the coat of a suit but intended to work equally well on its own with odd trousers. The pattern follows Drake's house silhouette, with a soft natural shoulder, light waist suppression and a three-roll-two front. It is fully canvassed with a hand-shaped chest, and the collar and sleeves are attached by hand. The cloth is an 11.5oz Huddersfield flannel, and the stripe gives the jacket a degree of formality while the brushed surface keeps it soft.

VBC Grey Chalkstripe Wool Flannel Downing Jacket
We chose a grey chalkstripe merino flannel from Vitale Barberis Canonico because it offers the same brushed, substantial flannel surface and a vertical stripe on a grey ground. We set the jacket with a soft full canvas, a three-roll-two notch lapel, flap hip pockets with a ticket pocket and dark brown horn buttons to follow the original. Proper Cloth's configuration uses a full lining and working kissing sleeve buttons, so the back is fully lined rather than buggy lined and the cuff buttons function, and the stripe is a chalkstripe rather than a fine pinstripe.
A medium heavyweight merino wool flannel woven by Vitale Barberis Canonico in Biella, Italy. It has a brushed, slightly fuzzy finish and a grey ground marked with a chalkstripe, and it is suited to autumn and winter wear.
