Ecru Silk-Canapa Tweed Blazer
Drake's cuts this blazer in its house silhouette: a natural shoulder, light construction and gentle shaping at the waist. It is fully canvassed, with a hand-shaped chest, hand-attached collar and sleeves, and a part lining across the back. The lapels are generous, with a pronounced belly. The cloth is an Italian silk and canapa tweed in plain ecru, meant to give the look of tweed in a jacket suited to warmer weather. It can be worn with tailored trousers or, more casually, with denim.

Loro Piana Fabric Greige Tweed Hudson Jacket
We looked for a pale, plain tweed with a visible surface texture and chose a greige Loro Piana wool basketweave, the nearest match in colour and character among Proper Cloth's solids. Proper Cloth offers no silk and hemp tweed, so the cloth is wool, and with it the jacket moves from a warm-weather piece to a cooler-season one. We matched the soft full canvas, the three-roll-two notch lapel, the brown horn buttons, the side vents and the ticket pocket. Proper Cloth's Hudson model comes fully lined and was made here with flap pockets rather than patch pockets.
The cloth is a Loro Piana wool tweed from Italy at 370 g, woven as a basketweave in a solid greige. It is finished to a softer hand than a traditional Shetland or Donegal but keeps tweed's textured surface. It wears with the weight and give of a heavy knit rather than the stiffness of an old-style sport coat.
