Navy Irish Linen Tailored Jacket
This is a single-breasted summer jacket in navy Irish linen. Drake's offers it as the jacket of a linen suit, and it can also be worn on its own as a blazer. It is made in Italy in the house style: an unstructured, unlined body on a half canvas, a soft natural shoulder and a three-roll-two front. A boat-shaped breast pocket and twin front darts give it a conventional tailored look, while patch pockets, a ticket pocket and double vents make it practical for everyday wear in warm weather.

Spence Bryson Faded Navy Irish Linen Waverly Jacket
We chose a navy Irish linen from Spence Bryson so the cloth would come from the same country and fibre as the original. We matched the main design points: a three-roll-two notch lapel, soft half-canvas construction, an unlined body, patch pockets, side vents and dark brown horn buttons. The linen available is a washed, faded navy at 400 g, so our jacket is heavier and more weathered in colour than the lightweight, even navy of the original. Proper Cloth sets the cuffs with four kissing buttons, and its specification does not say whether there is a ticket pocket or a boat-shaped breast pocket.
A pure linen in plain weave, woven in Ireland by Spence Bryson, a mill with a long history in Irish linen. At about 400 g it is a weighty cloth with real body. It has been washed to a faded navy, so it starts out soft and settles into loose, rounded folds rather than sharp creases as it is worn.
