Brown, Green and Blue Houndstooth Check Tweed Blazer
This is a tailored sport jacket in a heavy wool tweed, woven in a small houndstooth with a wider tonal overcheck. The houndstooth is a long-standing country pattern, and here it combines earthy browns and tans with quieter notes of olive and teal. It is made in Italy with a half canvas, an unlined body and a soft, natural shoulder, and it is cut closer than Drake's Games tailoring. The jacket sits between country and town wear and can be worn either way.

VBC Brown and Burgundy Guncheck Downing Jacket
We kept the jacket's quiet brown check and its autumn and winter use, and chose a brushed merino flannel from Vitale Barberis Canonico in a brown and burgundy guncheck. No tweed houndstooth with the original's green and teal was available, so this guncheck was the closest small brown check we could find. We matched the construction and trim: soft half canvas, unlined body, two-button notch lapel, patch pockets and dark brown horn buttons. Proper Cloth makes its sleeve buttons functional, so the three-button cuffs work rather than being sham, and we set them non-kissing.
A merino wool flannel woven by Vitale Barberis Canonico in Biella, at a medium heavyweight. It has a soft, brushed surface and a small guncheck in brown with burgundy. It suits cooler months and is more breathable than a dense tweed.
