Navy Linen Games Trousers
Drake's Games Trousers take their cue from mid-century sporting and leisure trousers, with a high waist that sits just above the hip and a full leg through the thigh. A single forward pleat gives room to move, and the leg narrows gently below the knee for a tidy line. Side adjusters, belt loops and a concealed fob pocket add a practical note. This navy version is cut in Italy from linen and is meant to be worn alone or with the matching blazer as a relaxed two-piece.

In Proper Cloth
Navy Linen Palermo Pant
We chose Proper Cloth's Portuguese navy pure linen, a solid cloth in the same colour and fibre as the original. We set the trousers as a chino with single pleats, a zip fly, belt loops, charcoal horn buttons and a plain hem to follow the Drake's details. Proper Cloth does not offer side adjusters, vertical front pockets, a concealed fob pocket or a French bearer, so we used side seam pockets, an angled flap back pocket and a standard coin pocket instead, with belt loops alone holding the waist.
A pure linen woven in Portugal in a plain weave, solid navy, listed as medium weight though Proper Cloth describes it as light and airy. It has a soft, slightly worn-in hand that shows the natural slub of the linen, and it creases readily in wear.
