White Cotton Oxford Cloth Long Point Collar Shirt

This is a plain white oxford shirt with a long point collar rather than the button-down collar usually found on this cloth. It belongs to a long tradition of oxford shirting, a kind of cloth that has been part of the everyday menswear wardrobe for about a century and that sits close to the centre of the Drake's range. It is made in the company's Somerset factory with single-needle seams, floating collar interlinings and a regular cut. It suits a tie and tailoring as well as more casual dress.

Clark White Oxford Cloth

We chose a solid white oxford in all cotton to match the colour, weave and plain surface of the original. We set a soft point collar, a soft front placket, a single chest pocket, a curved hem and mother of pearl buttons to follow its main lines. Proper Cloth's options led us to a few different choices: a one-button barrel cuff in place of the rounded cuff, a split yoke where the original has a box pleat at the back, and an angled pocket in place of the slightly pointed patch pocket. The cloth is also heavier than the original's midweight oxford.

A heavyweight white oxford woven from Pima cotton, with a finer warp set against a heavier two-ply weft. It is substantial in the hand without being thick, and it softens with washing and wear.
