Burgundy Pique Cotton Long-Sleeve Polo Shirt
Drake's long-sleeve polo comes from the sports shirt that moved off the tennis court and into everyday wear. It is knitted from cotton pique and made in Portugal. A ribbed collar, a short two-button placket and a stepped hem keep it close to the classic form, and mother-of-pearl buttons make it a little smarter. It is meant to be worn on its own or under a jacket, in casual or slightly dressier settings.

Greenwich Burgundy Twill
We matched the colour first, choosing a solid burgundy cotton of medium weight. Proper Cloth makes woven shirts rather than knits, so pique was not available; we used a dense two-ply twill and set the design to follow the polo's outline. That meant a popover front in place of a full placket, a soft one-piece collar to stand in for the knitted collar, a polo hem for the stepped tail, and mother-of-pearl buttons. Ribbed cuffs could not be made, so we used soft one-button barrel cuffs.
A European-woven cotton twill in 100s two-ply yarns, medium in weight, dense and smooth with a silky hand. It is a deep solid burgundy with a noticeable sheen that softens as the shirt is laundered, and it drapes well.
