Grey Chalkstripe Wool Double-Breasted Tailored Jacket
Drake's double-breasted jacket takes a long-established form of English tailoring and gives it a softer, more relaxed treatment. It is cut in the house's soft tailored shape, with a natural shoulder and half-canvas construction, and made in Italy. The cloth is a grey chalkstripe wool from a long-running Huddersfield weaving mill. The jacket belongs to a matching suit, and its patch pockets and easy line mean it can also be worn on its own.

VBC Grey Chalkstripe Wool Flannel Downing Jacket
We chose a brushed merino flannel from Vitale Barberis Canonico in grey with a chalkstripe, as it comes closest to the soft surface and muted stripe of the Huddersfield cloth. We set a six-button double-breasted front with peak lapels, patch hip pockets, dark brown horn buttons and soft half-canvas construction to follow the original. Proper Cloth's design as made does not list the patch ticket pocket or a barchetta breast pocket, so the pocket arrangement is simpler. We added side vents and kissing sleeve buttons, and finished the inside with a dark grey lining.
The cloth is a 100% merino wool flannel woven by Vitale Barberis Canonico in Biella, Italy. It is a medium heavyweight cloth with a brushed, slightly fuzzy surface and a grey ground marked with chalkstripes. It suits autumn and winter wear, and the merino keeps it breathable.
